Law and Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is one of the most daily issues and at the same time most ignored by our society, Colombia being a third world country, where patriarchy and machismo are ways of life, domestic violence, which according to studies mostly occurs against women has been a situation of great concern, since every day there are more deaths due to this issue and more women coming out to share their experiences.

As a law student, I feel that one of the aspects that most influences these types of situations is misinformation, we women have lived believing that the state does not turn to look at us, however thanks to the multiple feminist movements , Today we can see how our rights are relevant and representative in our country, which allows us to have a series of ways to defend ourselves from the different types of aggressions that as women in our homes we can receive, but what happens when we are not informed of this? Fear and the feeling of abandonment and inferiority happens, recognizing and making use of our rights as people and as women is the least we should know about, therefore, the study of Colombian laws is one of the most useful tools to finish with domestic violence

Our project is about a means of accompaniment and solution to domestic violence, more specifically to violence against women, since we created a telephone line in code for those women who have the opportunity to report, but they cant since they are being intimacies for their assailant, allowing them to make a call as if they were shopping for simple makeup that can literally free them from eternal suffering. With a simple call, our staff will receive and provide immediate help, together with the police force, which through our communication will act in pursuit of the violated woman, consequently the woman in question will be transferred to our facilities, where It will be treated by different specialists and where there will clearly be free legal help to accompany you in the complaint process and others.

Finally, with our project we not only want to help denounce cases of violence, but also or at least I particularly, from my career, instruct women what their rights are and what their constitutional guarantees are, so that they never and never feel again vulnerable or helpless by the state.
